- Find your name and note your role

”I can’t delete this record”
Symptom: Delete button is missing or disabled. Cause: Your role (Member) doesn’t have delete permissions. Solution:- Ask a Manager, Admin, or Owner to delete it for you
- Or request a role upgrade if deletion is part of your regular duties
”I can’t invite team members”
Symptom: “Invite Member” button is missing or you get an error. Cause: Members cannot invite other members. Solution:- Ask a Manager, Admin, or Owner to send the invitation
- Provide them with the email address and suggested role
”I can’t change someone’s role”
Symptom: Role dropdown is disabled or missing. Cause: Only Admins and Owners can change roles. Solution:- Contact an Admin or Owner
- Explain why the role change is needed
- Admins cannot promote someone to Owner
- You cannot change the role of someone with a higher role than you
”I can’t access organization settings”
Symptom: Settings page shows limited options or access denied. Cause: Organization settings require Admin or Owner role. Solution:- Contact an Admin or Owner for changes
- Provide specific details of what needs to be changed
”I can’t send invoices”
Symptom: Send button is missing or disabled on invoices. Cause: Members cannot send invoices to customers. Solution:- Ask a Manager, Admin, or Owner to send it
- Or request a role upgrade if invoicing is part of your regular duties
”I can’t create invoices”
Symptom: “Create Invoice” button is missing. Cause: Members cannot create invoices. Solution:- Ask a Manager, Admin, or Owner to create it
- Provide all necessary details (customer, line items, amounts)
”I can’t export data”
Symptom: Export button is missing or gives an error. Cause: Members cannot export data. Solution:- Ask a Manager or higher to export for you
- Explain what data you need and in what format
”I can’t assign jobs to team members”
Symptom: Assignment dropdown is disabled or missing. Cause: Members cannot assign work to others. Solution:- Ask a Manager or Admin to handle assignments
- Or create the job and ask someone to assign it
”I can’t void an invoice”
Symptom: Void option is missing from invoice actions. Cause: Members cannot void invoices. Solution:- Contact a Manager, Admin, or Owner
- Explain why the invoice needs to be voided
”I can’t access billing information”
Symptom: Billing page is not visible or access denied. Cause: Billing requires Admin or Owner role. Solution:- Contact an Owner or Admin for billing questions
- They can view subscription status, payment methods, and invoices
”I can’t create or delete teams”
Symptom: Team management options are missing. Cause: Team creation/deletion requires Admin or Owner. Solution:- Contact an Admin or Owner
- Provide details: team name, purpose, initial members
”I can’t share documents externally”
Symptom: Share button is missing or disabled. Cause: Members cannot share documents outside the organization. Solution:- Ask a Manager or higher to share for you
- Or download and share manually (if you can download)
”I can’t schedule automated reports”
Symptom: Schedule option is missing from reports. Cause: Report scheduling requires Admin or Owner. Solution:- Contact an Admin or Owner
- Specify: report type, frequency, recipients
Error Messages Explained
”You don’t have permission to perform this action”
What it means: Your role doesn’t include this capability. What to do: Check the Permission Matrix to see which role is required, then contact someone with that role.”Unauthorized”
What it means: The system blocked your request due to insufficient permissions. What to do:- Verify you’re logged in
- Check your role
- Contact an admin if you believe this is an error
”Access Denied”
What it means: You tried to access a page or feature beyond your access level. What to do: Navigate back and contact an admin if you need access to this area.”This action requires admin privileges”
What it means: Only Admins and Owners can do this. What to do: Contact an Admin or Owner.”Only the organization owner can perform this action”
What it means: This is restricted to Owners only (e.g., deleting org, transferring ownership). What to do: Contact the organization Owner.Requesting Access Changes

Consider requesting a role upgrade if:- ✅ You regularly need permissions your current role lacks
- ✅ Your job responsibilities have expanded
- ✅ You’re taking on a supervisory role
- ✅ You’re frequently asking others to do things for you
How to Request a Role Change
- Identify what you need: List specific actions you can’t perform
- Determine the required role: Check Role Definitions
- Contact an Admin or Owner: Explain:
- What you need to do
- Why you need to do it regularly
- The suggested role change

Role Change Best Practices
For Users
- ✅ Request the minimum role needed
- ✅ Be specific about what you need
- ✅ Understand the responsibilities that come with higher roles
- ❌ Don’t ask for Owner/Admin “just in case”
- ❌ Don’t share credentials to bypass restrictions
For Admins/Owners
- ✅ Evaluate requests based on actual job needs
- ✅ Start with lower roles and elevate as needed
- ✅ Review role assignments quarterly
- ✅ Document why elevated access was granted
- ❌ Don’t give Admin to everyone for convenience
- ❌ Don’t leave departed employees with elevated roles
