Team Members

Manage your organization’s users, invite new team members, assign roles, and control access to Taskr.
Access: Owners have full user management access. Admins can invite and manage non-admin users. See Role Definitions for details.

Overview

The Team Members section allows you to:

Accessing Team Members

  1. Go to Settings > Team Members
  2. Or navigate directly to /settings/members

Viewing Team Members

The team member list displays:

Filtering and Searching

  • Use the search bar to find users by name or email
  • Filter by role to view specific permission levels
  • Filter by status to see active, pending, or inactive users
  • Filter by team to view team-specific members

Inviting New Members

Sending an Invitation

  1. Go to Settings > Team Members
  2. Click Invite Member
  3. Enter the user’s email address
  4. Select a role for the user
  5. Optionally assign to a team
  6. Click Send Invitation

Bulk Invitations

To invite multiple users:
  1. Click Invite Member
  2. Select Bulk Invite
  3. Enter email addresses (one per line)
  4. Select a common role
  5. Click Send Invitations

Resending Invitations

For pending invitations:
  1. Find the user in the team list
  2. Click the Actions menu
  3. Select Resend Invitation

Changing a User’s Role

  1. Find the user in the team list
  2. Click on their current role
  3. Select the new role from the dropdown
  4. Confirm the change
Important: Changing roles takes effect immediately.

Assigning Users to Teams

  1. Find the user in the team list
  2. Click the Actions menu
  3. Select Assign to Team
  4. Choose the team(s)
  5. Click Save

Multiple Team Membership

Users can belong to multiple teams. Their access combines:
  • Permissions from their role
  • Visibility into assigned team data

Managing User Status

Active Users

Active users have full access based on their role. They:
  • Can log in to Taskr
  • Receive notifications
  • Appear in assignment lists
  • Count toward seat usage

Deactivating a User

When a team member leaves or needs temporary access removal:
  1. Find the user in the team list
  2. Click the Actions menu
  3. Select Deactivate
  4. Confirm the action
What happens when deactivated:

Reactivating a User

To restore access:
  1. Find the deactivated user (filter by Inactive status)
  2. Click the Actions menu
  3. Select Reactivate
  4. User regains access immediately

Removing a User

To permanently remove a user:
  1. Find the user in the team list
  2. Click the Actions menu
  3. Select Remove from Organization
  4. Confirm the removal
Warning: Removal is permanent. Consider deactivation first if you may need to restore access.

Admins can update:

Resetting User Password

Users can reset their own passwords via the login page. Admins cannot set passwords directly for security reasons. If a user is locked out:
  1. Ask them to use Forgot Password on login
  2. Or deactivate and re-invite if email access is lost

Seat Management

Understanding Seats

Each active user consumes one seat. Your plan includes a specific number of seats:

Viewing Seat Usage

  1. Go to Settings > Billing
  2. View Seats Used vs Seats Included

Tips for Team Management

  • Assign the minimum role needed for each user’s job function
  • Regularly review inactive users and deactivate as needed
  • Use teams to organize users by department or function
  • Keep ownership with a senior, permanent team member
  • Document role assignments for compliance purposes

Troubleshooting

User Cannot Log In

  1. Verify user status is Active
  2. Check invitation was accepted (not still Pending)
  3. Have user reset their password
  4. Verify correct email address

Cannot Invite New Users

  1. Check you have Admin or Owner role
  2. Verify seat availability
  3. Ensure email address is valid and not already invited

User Missing From Lists

  1. Check filters are not hiding the user
  2. Verify user is in the correct organization
  3. Confirm the invitation was accepted
